RealityMaps creates interactive web maps, apps and video animations for outdoor adventurers and sporting events.
With the RealityMaps app and the tour portal, we set standards in outdoor navigation and orientation using smartphones. The true-to-life 3D representation of the landscape is unique in its spatial resolution and level of detail. The RealityMaps app is one of the most widely used outdoor and sports apps for mountaineers in the Alps.
We aim to provide the best 3D map on the web to help outdoor enthusiasts worldwide plan and execute challenging adventures. We want to make mountaineering and outdoor adventures safer globally and elevate the experience for all passionate nature lovers.
The realistic depiction of the mountain landscape is intended to inspire users to new experiences and provide them with a precise tool for planning their tours.

Internships and theses
Your tasks
– Support in the development and optimization of our 3D maps and outdoor apps
– Participation in innovative projects related to geodata processing and visualization
– Conducting analyses and test runs in conjunction with real outdoor adventures
– Independent work in a creative team full of outdoor enthusiasts
what you bring
– Passion for geography, geoinformatics, software development – and the mountains!
– Initial knowledge in areas such as GIS, 3D visualization or app development (depending on the field of study)
– Or knowledge of Java programming (JDBC, JTS), database administration (Postgres/Postgis), ArcGIS, HTML5/CSS and PHP
– Or knowledge of Blender, Adobe Premiere and After Effects or Seabrush, Adobe Illustrator
– Initiative, creativity and a desire to contribute one's own ideas
– Ideally, experience in mountaineering or outdoor activities
