The most popular spots among bikers – Riva, Arco, and Torbole – are located on the northern shore of Lake Garda, but there are numerous fantastic tours scattered all around the lake.

Monte Baldo

Of course, the Lake Garda region is also ideal for exploring on foot. Besides the fantastic views, the contrasts in nature are particularly appealing. In lower-lying areas, you hike through picturesque olive groves, higher up through holm oak forests and across alpine meadows, and on the highest peaks, with a bit of luck, you might even spot edelweiss and gentians alongside rugged rock formations. One particularly beautiful hike, for example, leads from the turquoise waters of Lake Tenno up to the 1803-meter summit of Monte Misone, where an impressive view of the northern end of Lake Garda awaits.

ferrata

Lake Garda offers plenty to experience for fans of exposed rock paths and via ferrata climbing. Particularly along the northern shore and around Arco, numerous via ferratas of all difficulty levels can be found. Modern sport climbing routes stand alongside classic routes that have existed since the First World War. The Via dell'Amicizia, which leads to the Cima SAT via many long ladder sections, is a particularly noteworthy example. Those seeking a more athletic and challenging experience should consider the Mori via ferrata or the Via Ferrata Rino Pisetta. For experienced and physically fit climbers, the Via Ferrata Che Guevara, which ascends over 1500 meters to the summit of Monte Casale, is also an option.
