Wangspitze, 1873 m
A "tame" mountain with a wild face: The Wangspitze plunges into both the Hutlatal and Gadental valleys with menacing, shattered scree slopes. Above the head of the Gadental valley, the desolate karst plateau of the Diesner Gschröf, with its karst fields, presents an unusual impression.
Starting point: Guideboden, bus stop at the church (Sonntag municipality), 910 m; parking available. Requirements: Well-marked farm tracks and trails. Sustained steep ascent. Refreshments: Gasthaus Bad Rotenbrunnen. Our ascent begins at the church in Buchboden.
