Walchensee – Jochberg
A real "hit"! That the Jochberg is one of the most popular summit destinations in the Isarwinkel region is particularly evident on sunny weekends: parking is scarce at the Kesselberg! Those who take the public bus from Kochel are well advised; this also allows for an alternative descent to Lake Kochel via the Kotalm (1133 m). Of course, it's no coincidence that the Jochberg is so popular with hikers: the ascent is short, the view magnificent, especially the view down to the two lakes at the Kesselberg, Lake Walchen and Lake Kochel.
Starting point: Kesselberg pass, 850 m; bus stop; accessible from Kochel. Parking available on both sides of the summit. Requirements: A fairly short hike, well-maintained paths, only slightly rocky towards the top. Refreshments: Jocheralm (open in summer). Just a few meters south below the Kesselberg, the path to the Jochberg branches off (signposted).
