In autumn, weather conditions may mean that individual sections or the entire route are impassable. Please ask before the tour   A challenging tour up Lungötz's local mountain in the middle of the impressive Gerzkopf nature reserve with a wonderful panorama across to the Dachstein. A different geological structure ensures that Annaberg-Lungötz has such a rich flora that is not found everywhere in this variety. Due to its special flora and fauna, this mountain was declared a nature reserve. As a result, the Gerzkopf nature reserve was nominated as a Natura 2000 area according to the Flora-Fauna-Habitat guideline.
From Lungötz / Neubachtal - car park next to the school - the path goes up towards Klotzenberg to above the Lungötz forest pool. Turn right here, over Schlappen to Vordersbach. From Vordersbach the forest path leads up to Gerzkopf. The path leads mostly steeply through the forest to the Gerzkopf hunting lodge, which also marks the entrance to the nature reserve.
