Von Eschenbach zum Altenberg
Nice valley and ridge walk The picturesque part of the Pegnitz valley begins just before Hersbruck, where the Pegnitz bends and changes direction, so to speak. The villages become smaller and more pristine, and shining white rock rises from the sides of the valley. The western side of the Altenberg near Eschenbach is peppered with rocks - the compact rock teeth of the Riffler stand out most prominently here. On this short loop around the Altenberg, we can first get to know the valley landscape from a frog"s-eye view before climbing up to the ridge, which offers a bird"s-eye view of the countryside from its rocky summits.
Starting point: Eschenbach, parking lot at the entrance to the village (coming from Hersbruck), 358 m. Navi 91224 Pommelsbrunn, Eschenbach 105.
