On the Levada da Serra do Faial through the paradise valleyCamacha is easily accessible by bus from Funchal and the return journey from Monte is also easy. The easy tour initially runs along the disused Levada da Serra do Faial. From here, a steep road descends to the Levada dos Tornos, which reaches the villa suburb of Monte high above Funchal.
Starting point: Largo da Achada in Camacha, 700 m. Access by car or from Funchal with bus 129.End point: Return journey: From Monte with city bus 20/21 or the cable car back to Funchal, car drivers take a cab from Monte to Camacha.Requirements: Easy levada hike with short, steep ascents and descents on paved paths and narrow tarred roads.
