High-lying hamlets and a rewarding summitIn the center of the village of Liesing, the new fountain is an eye-catcher. Figures carved in stone symbolize farming and the culture of the Lesach Valley. The village square was voted the most beautiful in Carinthia. Liesing is the seat of the Lesachtal administration and also the oldest parish. The village is home to the Liesing Music Academy. The hike to the Mahdalpe is easy, to the Lumkofel partly steep and the way back to Assing also requires attention.
Starting point: Valley village / starting point: Liesing, 1043 m, on the Lesachtal main road, post bus connection.Assing, 1427 m. Access from Liesing on a mountain road, 4 km. Parking in a bend in the road (stream) 12 minutes" walk before the end of the road on Assing.
