Varied Pala trails around the Cima di Ball The Pala group between Passo di Ball and Cimerlo is particularly "iron-rich". A handful of components open up individual scope here. The Via ferrata del Portòn, which leads through a wild gorge and, together with the Via ferrata del Velo, connects the two huts in this area, is considered the crispest route. Behind the Rifugio Velo, the Sentiero del Cacciatore or Sentiero Buzzati (see tour "Sentiero del Cacciatore") offers a further route to the south. No less interesting is a continuation via the Sentiero Gusella from the Portòn saddle, which closes a via ferrata ring around the massive Cima di Ball. Either way, gripping scenery is guaranteed, be it at the sight of the pillar-reinforced Cima Canali, the massive Pala di San Martino, the bold Campanile Pradidali or - not to forget - the "dream couple" of the Pala par excellence: Sass Maor and Cima della Madonna with their famous veil edge in profile.
Starting point: Cant del Gal (1186 m) in Valle dei Canali; access from Fiera di Primiero in the direction of Passo Cereda and turn left after a good 3 km.Requirements: Character: Via ferrata del Portòn quite exposed and elaborately secured, making it the most difficult section. Sentiero Gusella and Via ferrata del Velo medium in the (shorter) via ferrata passages.
