Alpine pass hike on a unique mule track over the Splügen Pass with an exposed descent through the Val Cardinello gorge. Along the way: historic transport structures (engineered road with marble bridge and avalanche gallery). The Sust in Isola is now a guesthouse.
Experience history at every turn: Even 2000 years ago, the Via Spluga was the main connection between Graubünden and Italy. People, goods, and ideas traveled from Thusis over the Splügen Pass to Chiavenna – and vice versa. At the beginning of the 19th century, the route was further developed.
