Tscheppaschlucht, 1010 m
Family hike to the Devil's Bridge. In Carinthia, we find several impressive gorges and ravines, each with its own special charm: the Raggaschlucht is the wildest, the Groppensteinschlucht the most romantic, and the Garnitzenklamm the most adventurous. The deep Tscheppaschlucht has a bit of everything: dark, narrow passages with adventurous ladders, a spiral staircase, and a suspension bridge; romantic sections of path right next to the rushing stream; and thundering waterfalls. In its upper section, at the confluence of the Loiblbach and Bodenbach streams, the gorge forks into two branches with separate exit options: to the left, along the romantic Loiblbach to the Gasthaus Deutscher Peter inn, or to the right, upstream along the wild Bodenbach to the Devil's Bridge, the Tschaukofall waterfall, and through the rock gate into the Bodental valley to the Gasthaus Sereinig inn. A shuttle bus runs hourly from both inns back to the parking lot.
