Trogehorn, 1973 m
On the western pillar of the Hohgant massif: The Trogehorn, as the westernmost peak of the Hohgant massif, is significantly less frequented than the highest peaks around Hohgant and Furggegütsch to the east. However, this doesn't mean any real loss of the fantastic views of the Bernese Alps. On a clear day, the panorama of the northern Swiss Alps is outstanding. From the Titlis across the Urner Alps and the entire Bernese Alps to the Diablerets in the west, hardly anything remains hidden – even Mont Blanc makes an unobstructed appearance in the panorama of peaks. The rewarding loop via the Trogehorn is certainly one of the most beautiful hikes in the Eriz region, although sure-footedness is required in the Trogehorn area.
Starting and ending point: Innereriz-Säge, 1040 m; bus from Thun to the final stop. Requirements: Marked trails throughout; the summit area and the east ridge of the Trogehorn are somewhat exposed and require sure-footedness. T3. Refreshments (and accommodation): In Innereriz: Gasthof Schneehas, +41 33 453 06 05.
