A breathtaking natural spectacle awaits at the "Water Strider" trail. Near Umhausen, the Stuibenfall, Tyrol's highest waterfall, plunges down into the valley – a major attraction that draws large crowds, not least on the climbing route established a few years ago, which brings visitors right up close to the cascading spray. After a partial closure due to a rockfall, the popular trail has undergone extensive improvements in recent years (a structure with 720 steps and a suspension bridge). The "Water Strider" circular route also includes the Umhausen High Trail, which offers many beautiful views across the Ötztal valley to the Vorderer Geigenkamm mountain range.
Starting point: Umhausen, Muhre parking lot near the church, 1036 m. Difficulty: T2. Easy, mostly well-maintained hiking trails, with some steeper sections at the Stuibenfall waterfall and during the final descent, but always without difficulties. Half-day hike. Refreshments: Waldcafé Stuböbele, 1150 m.
