Up and down to the highest peaks of the Königsteiner Kuppenalb Around the pretty market town of Königstein there is a ring of high mountain peaks, all of which are classic hiking destinations: the Kühlochberg with its mysterious cave, considered to be one of the oldest dwellings in the Upper Palatinate, the Steinberg with its bizarre rock formations, the Breitenstein with its beautiful Romanesque chapel, the Zantberg, not least because of its rustic summit hut and inviting beer garden, and the Ossinger with its viewing tower from which you can see far across the countryside.
