Steile Alpwege zum Gross Aubrig

The gatekeeper of the Wägital Wägital and Wägitalersee are classic hiking areas on Zurich"s doorstep. The densely wooded Wägital runs between green mountain ranges, initially strictly southwards, until the massive, rocky northern flank of the Gross Aubrig seems to hermetically seal everything off at Vorderthal. However, the road and valley incision wind their way past this rocky outcrop, and at the top, at the dam wall of Lake Wägital, the Gross Aubrig has become a rounded, friendly summit, whose beautifully arched southern flank invites you to hike. The marked route can be hiked almost all year round due to its southern exposure. If you come in May, you will be delighted by the magnificent carpet of flowers, especially crocuses and soldanellas.
