Staufenberg
Varied hike: stones, forest and waterThis extremely beautiful tour first takes us from Beggingen up to the abandoned Seewi quarry, from whose brown-violet reed sandstone figures such as the allegorical figures on Zurich main station were once carved. Then it"s up along slopes with great views to the Staufenberg and past several stations on the Dar-da-da trail (or "Taar da da"; see tour "Taar-da-da trail") down to the renaturalized Wutach, a wildly beautiful little river. After the gypsum museum, the route ends with the narrow ascent to Flüeli and the path across the vineyards back to Schleitheim.
Starting point: Beggingen, Neumühle bus stop, 540 m. Approach - regional bus 21 - parking lot in the village.End point: Schleitheim, Bahnhofstrasse, 465 m.
