Three stages on the Swabian-Allgäu hiking trail. This trail has connected Augsburg with Sonthofen since 1978, with one branch leading to the Kneipp spa town of Bad Wörishofen. The route winds for hours through extensive forests, the idyllic Anhauser Valley with its numerous fish ponds – one of the most beautiful valleys in the Augsburg Western Woods Nature Park – and along the wooded upper edge of the Wertach slope. Benches with beautiful views are frequently placed along the forest edges – sometimes even offering a magnificent panorama of the Alps when the Föhn wind is blowing. In Tussenhausen, we leave the nature park and hike through the meadow- and forest-rich gravel and old moraine landscape to the world-famous spa town of Bad Wörishofen.
Starting point: Tram line 3 terminus Stadtbergen (482 m). Requirements: Stamina required. Mostly very well signposted and marked with a blue St. Andrew's cross (partly signs, partly on trees, rarely as stickers on traffic signs). Only short sections of the trail are unmarked. Refreshments: 1.
