There are many interesting stories surrounding Schongau's historic old town. First, however, we will experience romantic hiking trails before we discover the old town with the Gothic Ballenhaus, the baroque parish church of the Assumption of Mary and the walkable city wall.
After following the idyllic riverside hiking trail along the Lech to Lech dam level 7, we turn into the Staffelau forest and reach the high trail at the Schongau clinic via the Berlachberg and past the Trachtenheim. The old town rises on the Lechumlaufberg and behind it you can see the magnificent Alpine backdrop.
