The oldest church in Val GardenaWith its magnificent frescoes, the old church of St. Jakob (13th century) to the east of Ortisei is one of those places in the Dolomites where you always want to linger. Situated in a photogenic location in a forest clearing in front of the soaring Sassolungo, the church is a place of quiet contemplation and contemplation. The little church can be visited from Ortisei on a beautiful circular hiking trail, with constant views of the magnificent mountain scenery of Val Gardena.
