Sörenberg – Brienzer Rothorn, 2348 m
Finally, right at the top! We started the guide with a hike from Habkern, near Lake Brienz, across to the source of the (Great) Emme River, and we conclude it with a hike from the source of the Little Emme back to the lake. Along the way, we climb the Brienzer Rothorn, the highest peak in this guide, in the Entlebuch region, and in the canton of Lucerne. It was beautiful!
Starting point: Sörenberg, valley station (approx. 1240 m) of the cable car to the Brienzer Rothorn. Postbus from Schüpfheim on the Bern – Lucerne line. End point: Mountain station (2244 m) of the Brienz – Rothorn cogwheel railway; Brienz (574 m) is located on the Interlaken Ost – Brünig – Lucerne railway line. Requirements: Good physical condition for the ascent.
