Siebenschneidensteig
Fantastic high-altitude trail high above the StilluppgrundYou have to go over seven edges - this is the motto of one of the most charming high-altitude routes far and wide. It connects the Edelhütte with the Kasseler Hütte, is officially known as the Aschaffenburger Höhensteig and is anything but a walk along its 13-kilometre route through the high cirques on the Ahornkamm. The impassable, stumbling boulder fields in particular often cause unexpected hardship and cost the less experienced a lot of time. The signposts at the Ahornbahn cable car and Edelhütte therefore give almost deterrent time indications (which, however, seem a little exaggerated in objective terms). However, if you are up to the challenge, you can immerse yourself in a magnificent primeval landscape. We can enjoy the freedom of high-altitude hiking to the full and revel in the magnificent panoramas. The triangular peak of the Großer Löffler dominates the valley head of the Stilluppe.
Starting point: Edelhütte, 2238 m, accessible from the Ahornbahn in 1.15 hours (see Tour 38 "Ahornspitze, 2973 m").End point: Kasseler Hütte, 2177 m, in the inner Stillupptal. Descent via the hut trail (see tour 40 "Kasseler Hütte, 2177 m").Requirements: T4.
