Seiserhof und Herrenalm
Via the salt steps in the Wolfsschlucht gorge This hike around the Wolfsschlucht gorge takes you along the Salinenweg trail and thus also along a section of a pressurized water pipeline. This was used to supply pressurized water to the brine pipeline from Bad Reichenhall to Rosenheim, which was in operation from 1810 to 1958. In this way, salt was transported from the Reichenhall mines to the Rosenheim salt works for processing using sophisticated pipeline technology. The Herrenalm lies at the turning point of the tour; its name goes back to the Herrenchiemsee monastery, which owned it until secularization in 1803.
Starting point: Bernau (544 m), parking lot at the miniature golf course (Navi: 83233 Bernau am Chiemsee, Rottauer Str. 5), on the left-hand side in the southern direction.
