Europe"s largest mudslide Lovers of solitude who are used to steep climbs can expect an unusual mountain destination on this short circular tour, a gigantic hole: the Schesa ravine. With a width of 700 m, it is considered to be the largest mudslide in our continent. Over the course of time, the formerly tiny Schesa stream has triggered enormous landslides here.
Starting point: Tschapina (municipality of Bürserberg), bus stop at the exit of the Tschapina tunnel, 900 m; parking lot shortly before the entrance.Requirements: Partly sparsely marked trails and forest paths, paths and forest roads, short climb, at the beginning residential roads. Longer steep ascent.
