Merkenstein ruins

Due to its strategically important location, the Merkenstein castle ruins are not only significant for regional history (Matthias Corvinus), but also played a role during the Turkish sieges. Since the founding date and builders of the castle are unknown, the lords of Merkenstein can be traced back to the early 12th century.
