Ruine Merkenstein

Due to its military-politically important location, the Merkenstein castle ruins are not only important for regional history (Matthias Corvinus), but also played a role during the Turkish sieges.As the founding date and builder of the castle are unknown, the ancestral lords of Merkenstein can be dated back to the early 12th century.
