Impressive summit opposite lonely three-thousand-metre peaksPiz Dora is a beautiful summit destination in the Münstertal part of the Ortler Alps. In addition to the usual exciting view of the Ortler, the close-up view of mighty, almost unknown mountain formations such as Piz Murtaröl, Piz Tea Fondada or Piz Schumbraida is particularly impressive. If you climb one of these peaks, you will find yourself in the same conditions as before the wave of development by the Alpine associations 100 and more years ago - arduous through pathless terrain, no comfortable base to shorten the long ascents. The "path" to our destination in the upper section often consists of nothing but tracks, is sometimes sparsely marked and quite long - and therefore similarly pristine. A tour for enduring and experienced mountain hikers who can move safely in this terrain. The view of the rocky peak of Piz Turetta opposite is impressive.
Starting point: Tschierv, parking lot at the "Turettas" restaurant at the western entrance to the village, 1660 m. Accessible from Zernez via the Ofen Pass (just under 27 km) or from Santa Maria in the Müstair Valley (8.5 km). Postbus stop.Requirements: Good physical condition important, surefootedness required on the summit ascent.
