Pitztaler Almenweg
Three alpine pastures above St. Leonhard On the Kaunergrat side, the Pitztaler Almenweg, which runs halfway up the flanks, accompanies our valley between the Söllbergalm in the north and the Arzler Alm in the south. A further connection to the dilapidated Neururer Alm is problematic due to mudslides. As alpine hikers are usually connoisseurs anyway, a less extensive circular route above St. Leonhard is presented below. By walking the trilogy of Neuberg-, Tiefental- and Arzler Alm, there is a refreshment stop every hour.
Starting point: Eggenstall, 1336 m, district of St. Leonhard. Small parking lot on the orographic left side of the Pitze; bus stop opposite.Requirements: T3, often easier. On the connecting paths, often bumpy routes in heavily overgrown (wooded) and sometimes boulder-strewn terrain; basic surefootedness required. Ascent and descent partly on tracks.
