Ascent with the Wildkogelbahn Neukirchen or with the Smaragdbahn Bramberg, followed by a beautiful high-altitude hike in the Wildkogel area with a great view of the Grosser Rettenstein.
The path leads from the Wildkogelbahn & Smaragdbahn mountain stations west to the Wolkenstein inn (not open). From there, the wide path takes you past the Gensbichl lift mountain station, over the Braunkogel to the Frühmesser. On the other side of the summit, the path goes down to the Grasleitenkopf.
