Maisalm und Mutkopf, 1990 m
From Roppen to a fantastic view "The journey is the reward" - this well-known saying may often be true in the mountains, but it is probably different here. It"s not so much the relatively monotonous ascent through the forest that entices us to set off from Roppen to the Maisalm, but rather the cozy alpine hut and a summitless but amazing viewpoint above. It lies in a large clearing on the extreme northern slope of the Geigenkamm. Those who make the extra effort to reach the ledge at Mutkopf - 1300 meters above the Inn Valley - can relax there on giant anatomically shaped benches in front of a great panorama.
Starting point: Roppen train station, 724 m.Requirements: T2, up to Maisalm only T1. Up to the alpine pasture and a little beyond, exclusively harmless forest paths, to the Mutkopf finally an easy climb through meadow terrain.
