Latschur, 2236 m
The guardian over the Drau Valley The most famous mountain in the otherwise little-known Latschur group is the Goldeck, whose panoramic road is buzzing with excursion traffic. In contrast, it is much quieter on Latschur, the highest peak in the group, as the climbs to it are long. But it rewards its visitors with an extensive panoramic view and a gigantic view down into the Drau Valley. And the mountain has a few more delicacies in store for us: In early summer, the wide grassy slopes are adorned with the most beautiful flowers, and Lake Weissensee awaits us with a leisurely boat trip and a refreshing swim on the tour suggested here. The dark, deep, fjord-like lake owes its strange name to the light, shallow, chalky strip that surrounds almost the entire shore.
Starting point: Valley town: Paternion, 518 m, and Stockenboi municipality, approx. 800 m.Starting point: From Paternion via Stockenboi to the eastern shore of Lake Weissensee, large parking lot, 932 m; a hundred meters further on is the Dolomitenblick inn with the boat landing stage.Lake Weissensee boat trip: Between 10 a.m.
