In the midst of the idyllic and lush green landscape of the western Kitzbühel Alps, farmer, Alpine dairyman and writer Sepp Kahn lives on the rustic Untere Lärchenbergalm, whose "Almtagebuch"(Alpine diary) provides insights into life and work in the mountains.
For this suggested hike, first drive into the Windautal valley to the Gasthaus Steinberg.From the Gasthaus Steinberg or its Hubertus Chapel, the hiking trail first leads along Alpine pastures, later through forest to the Wallernalm. Here you come across the forest path that we later choose for the descent.
