A botanical high-altitude hike to a panoramic mountain with sheer cliffs plunging into the Rhône Valley: Grand-Garde, meaning "Great Guardian," awaits—like its neighbors—behind a precipitous drop to the Rhône Valley, with a very hiker-friendly ridge on its far side. Thanks to the altitude of Ovronnaz, with the chairlift to Jorasse as the starting point, the ascent remains quite manageable. The entire area is also renowned for its diverse alpine flora. As with all hikes in the Muveran-Diablerets region, this tour also offers the opportunity to study magnificent rock strata on the peaks.
Starting point: Jorasse (1940 m), mountain station of the chairlift from Ovronnaz (»Téléovronnaz«), operating hours daily except in bad weather from approx.
