Kammspitze, 2139 m
An airy rocky ridge above the Enns Valley: The Kammspitze, along with the Stoderzinken and Grimming, is one of three rocky ridges that extend the main ridge of the Dachstein Mountains eastward and offer stunning panoramic views over the Enns Valley. The vista stretches from the Totes Gebirge and the Ennstaler Alps across the long chain of the Niedere Tauern range to the Großglockner, the highest peak in the Hohe Tauern. Two trails lead to the summit from Gröbming, which can be combined into a circular hike either from the starting point or further up. We suggest taking the path to Säbelboden for both the ascent and descent, and from there we begin a circular hike via the Kammspitze.
Starting point: Gröbming, 770 m. Parking is available on Hofmanningerweg before Aracker, 930 m. Directions: Drive straight through the center of Gröbming to the second roundabout, then follow the Alpine Club signs for "Kammspitze". After approximately 0,5 km, turn left onto Hofmanningerweg and after another 0,5 km, turn right before a large antenna.
