Round tour in the former Austrian-Italian border regionFrom the popular vacation resort of Valbruna (Wolfsbach) at the entrance to the valley of the same name, the route leads to a much-visited panoramic peak. The Zita Chapel (restored in 1990) was built during the First World War by soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in honor of the last empress.
Starting point: Valbruna, southern end of the village, 821 m, junction of a forest road from the road into Val Saisera (WW "path no. 607", Malga Rauna, Jôf di Miezegnot), 821 m; parking. Train from Villach, Tarvisio and Udine, Ugovizza-Valbruna station, 1.5 km north of Valbruna (but only a few trains stop!); TPL FVG bus from Tarvisio and Pontebba.
