Historical tour of Ensingen
The small Vaihingen district of Ensingen invites you to an exploratory walk.
Ensingen was owned by the Lords of Eselsberg in the 13th century, passed to the Counts of Vaihingen in 1253, and then to the House of Württemberg in the 14th century. Eselsburg Castle, formerly known as "Castrum Elisperch," lies north of Ensingen and was first documented as a Hohenstaufen estate on April 23, 1188.
