The district of Gadheim - the new center of the EUVeitshöchheim"s district is not just home to the beautiful Edelmannswald forest: The municipality, and more specifically its district of Gadheim, has become the new geographical center of the European Union as a result of the UK"s Brexit. Right at the start of the tour, we seek out this aesthetically pleasing spot and take a longer loop through the Edelmannswald forest. A stop at the Naturfreundehaus is recommended at the end of the tour.
Starting point: Bus stop in Gadheim, take bus no. 19 (Würzburg - Güntersleben). Return either by bus 19 from Gadheim, by train or bus from Veitshöchheim or, better still, by excursion boat on the Main. Car parking spaces at the Naturfreundehaus.Requirements: The hike is mainly on field and forest paths, which are sometimes rooty and slippery when wet.
