The market town of Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn lies on the eastern edge of the Lower Austrian foothills of the Alps, where the last hilly foothills plunge into the Vienna Basin, on the so-called thermal line. Accordingly, the influence of the Pannonian climate is already strongly noticeable here, which can also be seen in the vegetation, predominantly black pine and oak forests, with beech forests only on the cooler northern slopes, as well as in the many vineyards.
The municipality offers many options for hikers, all of which can be classified as rather comfortable, even on longer routes, as there are few meters of altitude to overcome. You can hike up the municipality's highest mountain, the Pfarrkogel (470 m), Berndorf's flagship excursion mountain, the Guglzipf (472 m) with its observation tower and hut, as well as the extensive forest landscapes between the municipality and Aigen. No visitor should miss a walk around the symposium grounds (dry grassland Natura 2000 area, permanent sculpture exhibition, view).
When you return from the hike, you can either stop off at one of the inns or visit one of the traditional wine taverns in Lindabrunn or Enzesfeld.
The hikes presented can also be easily undertaken if you arrive by public transport (Enzesfeld train station). The best way to get to the starting point in Lindabrunn is via the Frauentalkreuz.
The Guglzipf, with its height of 472 m, is a very popular hiking destination from Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn.
