Glaciers, swamps and Celtic redoubts: Secrets of a forest The hilly hills of the Bernrieder Wald are among the most mysterious landscapes around Munich. Located just to the west of the metropolis, the moraine ridge is one of the northernmost points of the glacier advance during the last ice age and is home to eerie swamps, mysterious Celtic redoubts, two nature reserves and remote farmsteads, as well as the Jexhof Farm Museum, where visitors can trace a comparatively recent past.
Starting point: Orlando-di-Lasso-Straße bus stop or parking lot behind the church of St.
