Round the Wurtenkees on the Glacier High TrailFrom the end of the Innerfraganter valley (parking lot), the Mölltal Glacier Express (Stollenbahn) takes you to the middle station at 2200 m above sea level, then the Eisseebahn (gondola lift) to the Eisseehaus, 2795 m, and finally the quad chairlift (Gletscherjet) to the Schareck, making the Schareck adventure possible for almost all ages. The highest point with the summit cross is somewhat exposed. Be careful here! If we get off at the middle station, it takes 2.50 hours to reach the summit. Experienced hikers can continue from the Schareck along the mountain ridge to the Herzog-Ernst-Spitze, then descend to the Fraganter Scharte and later along the Hochwurtenspeicher reservoir to the middle station.
Starting point: Valley town: Penk (municipality of Reißeck), 663 m, post bus service.Starting point: Alpenheim inn in Teuchltal, 1185 m. From the Penker Gasthof (on the main road), the asphalted mountain road branches off into the Teuchltal valley. A few houses and farms form the small, secluded village of Teuchl, 1260 m.
