Leisurely short tour to the large waterfallThe walk to the "dangerous waterfall" near Rabaçal is a must for every visitor to Madeira, and the path is correspondingly busy. From the Lagoa do Vento, the water plunges down a smooth wall from a height of 100 meters.
Starting point: Parking lot on the ER 105 at the junction to Rabaçal, 1278 m. Coming from Funchal, take the highway to Ribeira Brava and continue to Ponta do Sol. At a traffic circle with a fountain, turn right towards Canhas / Paul da Serra. Shortly after the petrol station in Canhas, follow the signs to Paul da Serra on the right.
