Lots of nature with geological and botanical featuresThe panoramic plateau of the Obere Reiat breaks off around 150 meters deep on its eastern side to Bibertal and Hegau. We start in Lohn, where the bolus clay, which is found in rare purity, gave rise to a ceramics industry that is still functioning today. Then, on this varied hike, we visit the upper edge of the abyss at Cherzestübli, from where we descend into the depths and walk westwards through the curious drainage channels of ice-age meltwater. We hike through romantic and eerie places full of strange rock formations, rare flowers and swampy streams and enjoy astonishing seclusion.
Starting point: Lohn, village bus stop, 630 m. Approach - regional bus 24 - parking lot in the village. End point: Herblingen, post office, 440 m.
