Across the DillenbergCadolzburg used to be a popular excursion destination for the people of Fürth, who came here on the lovingly named "Mockerla" slow train, especially during the "Bläih", or cherry tree blossom season. This tour proves that the romantic market town is a great starting point for exciting hikes at any time of year. It leads over the wooded castle sandstone ridge of the Dillenberg to the legendary Druidenstein and from there on to the Hammerschmiede, idyllically situated in the Farrnbachtal valley. Via the Franconian farming villages of Stinzendorf and Gonnersdorf, you return to Cadolzburg, where you should take some time to visit the old town center and castle. And at the end of the day"s hiking, why not climb the 143 steps to the Cadolzburg viewing tower and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding countryside?
