The trail takes you across the dry and semi-dry grasslands of the Badberg, a breathtaking, open landscape with nature reserves, as well as through the Eichstetten valley with farmland and vine terraces and into the Dreisam lowlands covered with cereals and wet meadows
In spring, along this trail between Vogtsburg-Oberrotweil and Nimburg, you will not only discover the emerald lizard at the foot of the Badberg and on the small terraces of the inner Kaiserstuhl, but also perhaps the bright blue kingfisher on ditches in the Dreisam lowlands. The wine cockerel, a type of cricket, makes hiking an acoustic experience on summer evenings.
