From Alpine views to the idyllic Erlau reservoirs: The destination of this hike is the Gut Lichtenau mountain inn, which welcomes us with a magnificent panoramic view of the Danube Valley and, on a clear day, all the way to the Alps. Secluded forest paths lead us there, and the descent via the Heilig Röhren chapel to the Erlau reservoirs, nestled close to the valley floor, is tranquil. A hike to enjoy nature with a not inconsiderable elevation gain.
Starting point: Access road from the St 2128 to Manzenberg, 480 m, east of Büchlberg, parking available after approx. 200 m on the right-hand side at the Christuskreuz (Christ's Cross) or in Manzenberg (GPS – 94124 Manzenberg / Büchlberg); call bus RBO 8136 (+49 851 21370606). Requirements: Approx.
