Bad Säckingen: Zum Röthekopf

The Wiedehopfpfad (Hoopoe Trail) is the longest themed trail in the Kaiserstuhl. Always keeping the border with France in mind, it connects the forgotten river history of the Kaiserstuhl with the most recent eruptions, the historic castles and the viticulture of the Kaiserstuhl.

It leads to old hilltops as remnants of the eroded, recent lava flows; you can enjoy wonderful views of the Vosges Mountains as well as insights into a partly Mediterranean flora and fauna and fascinating arms of the Old Rhine!
