Lüsner Alm Variations: The Lüsner Alm is a long, narrow ridge with several summits that offer beautiful and easy snowshoeing destinations. The first and highest of these peaks is the Astjoch, also known as Burgstall and Cima Lasta. This easily accessible summit attracts many hikers, so our destination is usually well-tracked. The easiest and most popular, but also somewhat monotonous, ascent is from the south, starting from the Tulper Gampis parking lot above Lüsen. The northern ascent, from the hamlet of Ellen high above the Puster Valley, is considerably more scenic. Here, two routes can be combined to create a varied and romantic loop.
