The new Documentary series “In dire need” ARD provides impressive insights into the demanding daily work of alpine rescue teams. This includes state-of-the-art technology – among other things, 3D maps from RealityMaps, which significantly facilitate orientation in difficult terrain and can save lives in emergencies.

In the program, camera crews accompany real mountain rescue operations and demonstrate how crucial precise terrain information is in critical situations. Our high-resolution 3D maps support rescuers not only in mission planning but also during operations: Realistic terrain representation, accurate elevation data, and offline usability provide invaluable assistance – even in remote regions without mobile network coverage.
